Official Rules

The “MEGA MONEY WHEEL” contest begins 4/7/2008 and runs through 5/16/08. The contest is open to all persons eighteen (18) years of age and older with the exception of employees and immediate families of: WGTY-FM, Times & News Publishing Co., participating sponsors and agencies, other radio stations & media outlets, anyone involved with the preparation, production, distribution, or execution of this promotion and/or associated materials. The term “immediate” family shall include spouses, parents, children, grandparents, grandchildren, and cohabitating significant others. WGTY, at its own discretion, reserves the right to extend the end date of the contest. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO PARTICIPATE OR WIN. Void where prohibited.

Beginning 4/7/2008, each weekday at random times between the hours of 6am and 7pm, WGTY will play a designated sounder on the air that designates the time to play and also what number caller qualifies to play the game. The correct number caller during that play time to call 1-800-366-9489 or (717) 334-9489 will spin the MEGA MONEY WHEEL. The MEGA MONEY WHEEL is a virtual wheel denoted by a random pre-recorded play, with the amount pre-determined prior to the playing of the contest. The virtual wheel spins and the station voice announces the amount listener wins. The amount is the final amount that is awarded. All decisions are final and are at the discretion of WGTY. There will be a minimum of three (3) plays each weekday (M-F), between 6am and 7pm. Additional plays can be added at WGTY’s discretion throughout the contest. WGTY reserves the right to determine exact times of the additional plays.

All prizes are in cash value. Prizes include: a minimum of $20,000 in total cash in pre-determined amounts that occur at random during contest. Amounts awarded range from $100 to $2,000. All winners are guaranteed a minimum payout of $100.

WGTY’s regular thirty (30) day rule, in that a person or persons in the same household can only win one (1) contest per every 30 (thirty) days, will be waived for this contest only. A person (or persons in the same household) may only play this contest 1 (one) time before becoming ineligible to play this contest again. The thirty (30) day rule remains in effect for all other WGTY contests.

Within 14 days, winners will be contacted by phone or mail to arrange details for claiming their prize. Cash awards will be issued in the form of a check. Checks will be released during regular business hours, Mon.-Fri. 8am – 4:30pm (EDT/EST), at the WGTY Business Offices, 1560 Fairfield Rd Gettysburg, PA 17325. Waiting period may be waived at the sole discretion of WGTY. The person who claims the prize in-person must be the same person who calls in to win and must present two forms of valid ID (one being a photo ID) and must sign all necessary release forms in order to receive their prize. Prizes not claimed within 30 days after the conclusion of the waiting period shall be forfeited and remain the sole property of WGTY. Prizes may be mailed at the discretion of the winner, if deemed appropriate by WGTY. Prizes will not be mailed until all proper paperwork has been returned to WGTY. WGTY is not responsible for lost or misdirected mail, and therefore cannot replace any prize that is not delivered due to the failure of the United States Postal Service.

WGTY disclaims any responsibility for the inability to complete a telephone call within the allotted time periods, whether due to telephone equipment malfunction, busy lines, or otherwise. Winners will be solely responsible for reporting and paying taxes on prizes wherever applicable and will be issued an IRS Form 1099 for any cash prize with a value of $650.

Prizes are non-transferable and may not be exchanged. WGTY reserves the right to disqualify any participant if all contest rules are not followed. Each participant, by virtue of participation in the contest, agrees to be bound by the decisions of WGTY and accept them as final.

All winners must sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Contest Release Form granting WGTY-FM permission to use their names, characters, photographs, voices, and likenesses in connection with this promotion and others and must waive any claim of royalty, right or remuneration for such use. Winners must waive any and all claims of liability against WGTY-FM, Times & News Publishing Co., and all their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, affiliates, subsidiaries, representatives and assigns, and hold them harmless for any personal injury or loss arising from participation in the contest or from use of any prize.

If, after the contest has started, changes or updates are deemed necessary, WGTY will announce those changes at approximately 7:10 am on the day of the change.
